In 2018, Rickey McCullough was awarded a license to open a dispensary through Oakland’s Cannabis License Equity Program. He wanted to manifest a hub for events, activities, and good times. He was aiming to create a cultural force for good, centered around the responsible sale and enjoyment of the cannabis plant he loved. So Rickey brought in a supporting team of experts and began the planning of Root’d Dispensary and Lounge. The rest, as they say,
